Our Philosophy

At Integrated Movement & Wellness, LLC, we offer a distinctive approach to movement and wellness.   Our philosophy centers on the belief that true wellness transcends physical fitness, extending into mind and spirit.  We offer Classical Pilates in the Joseph Pilates tradition and modern variations. We offer yoga, mindfulness, and meditation practices, as well as Health & Wellness Coaching. By integrating evidence-based practices, we empower our clients to pursue comprehensive and sustainable wellness.

Our Approach

Our unique approach to movement and wellness includes the integration of methods and traditions to meet the individual needs of clients. Clients have a choice of practices – Classical or modern Pilates, Yoga and Meditation, Health & Wellness Coaching, or combined practices as well as a choice of private or group instruction. Instructors have advanced practice certifications in each discipline. So, whether you are pursuing specific goals, exploring different disciplines, or wanting transformation, we offer programs to support your wellness journey.

Private Pilates Session

A 50-minute private Pilates session offers a personalized and focused experience tailored to your specific fitness goals and needs. The session begins with a brief consultation to assess your posture, movement patterns, and any areas of concern. Your instructor then designs a custom routine using a combination of mat exercises and specialized equipment such as the Pilates reformer, tower, highor wunda chair, ladder barrel, and other apparatus depending on your preferences.Throughout the session, the instructor provides cueing, and encouragement to ensure proper form and alignment. The workout typically includes a series of controlled movements aimed at improving core strength, flexibility, balance, and muscle endurance. Emphasis is placed on breathing techniques, precision, and body awareness to help you engage the right muscles and avoid injury.As the session progresses, the instructor may challenge you with exercises that progressively build strength and coordination. At the end of the session there is a cool-down with gentle stretches. The private setting ensures undivided attention, allowing the instructor to focus solely on your individual progress, whether you’re a beginner or an advanced practitioner.

Private Yoga Session

A 50-minute private yoga session offers a personalized and focused experience designed to your unique needs, whether you’re looking to build strength, improve flexibility, or find relaxation. The session begins with a brief discussion of your goals, any physical limitations, and areas of focus, allowing the instructor to tailor the practice to your preferences and capabilities.The class typically starts with gentle breathwork and centering exercises to help you connect with your body and calm the mind. The instructor then guides you through a series of poses, adjusting the sequence and difficulty based on your level, whether you’re a beginner or experienced yogi. Asanas (yoga poses) are performed slowly and mindfully, with attention to alignment, breathing, and movement flow. Throughout the session, the instructor offers personalized adjustments and verbal cues to ensure you’re practicing safely and effectively. If needed, props like blocks, straps, or blankets may be used to enhance your practice and make certain poses more accessible or supportive. The session might include a mix of standing poses, balance work, seated stretches, and core strengthening exercises, all designed to promote strength, flexibility, and relaxation. Towards the end, a period of deep relaxation (often in the form of Savasana) is included to help you fully absorb the benefits of the practice. This one-on-one experience provides a nurturing, focused environment where the instructor can address your individual needs. Meditation coaching is also available upon request.

Duet Pilates Session

Duet Yoga Session

A 50-minute duet yoga session provides a personalized, yet collaborative, yoga experience for two participants. The session begins with a brief discussion where the instructor learns about each person’s goals, any physical concerns, and their experience level, allowing the practice to be tailored to meet both participants’ needs. The class typically begins with a grounding warm-up, focusing on breathwork and mindfulness to help both participants center their minds and bodies. The instructor then leads the duo through a series of yoga poses (asanas), adjusting the flow and intensity to accommodate each individual’s abilities. Poses are sequenced thoughtfully, with an emphasis on alignment, flexibility, strength, and balance, ensuring each participant receives appropriate challenges and modifications. During the session, the instructor provides personalized adjustments and cues for each participant related to correct form and alignment while also fostering a mindful practice. Meditation circle coaching is available upon request.

Wellness Coaching Consultation

A private Health & Wellness Coaching session offers a personalized and focused approach to addressing your health and wellness goals. The session begins with a conversation to explore your current lifestyle, challenges, and aspirations. This helps the coach understand your specific needs, whether you’re looking to improve fitness, manage stress, change habits, or enhance overall well-being. The coach then works with you to create a tailored plan that aligns with your goals, practical strategies utilizing your strengths, and actionable steps to implement in your daily life. The session is directed by the client and may cover various aspects of health and fitness, stress management, navigating personal or professional transitions, or mindset shifts. Different coaching approaches and techniques may be incorporated into sessions to meet your individual needs or preferences. These could include goal setting, visualization exercises, discussion around opportunities and obstacles to goals, or mindfulness practices.

Throughout the session, the coach uses effective questioning, active listening, and problem-solving techniques to guide you toward self-awareness and actionable insights. You may set both short-term and long-term goals, along with specific milestones, to track progress and ensure accountability. At the end of the session, your coach may provide resources, tools, or exercises to support your journey, and together, you’ll outline the next steps to keep you on track toward achieving your health and wellness objectives. This one-on-one experience offers a supportive and empowering environment, helping you create sustainable change. Please note that coaching is not therapy or a substitute for therapy.
